The Cuyamaca College Counseling Department is committed to helping students achieve their educational and career goals. Whether the goal is to take one course, earn a certificate or an Associate Degree, or transfer to a four-year college, Cuyamaca Counselors are available to assist.

The department's commitment is to provide quality educational, career, occupational and personal counseling and create a climate and structure in which each student has a maximum opportunity for self-fulfillment.

e-Counseling

Cuyamaca's e-Counseling provides students with the ability to ask quick questions that do not require in person appointments. You will need your student ID # to submit a question visit Talk with a Counselor

These questions can include the following:

  • Transfer
  • Course Planning
  • Probation or Dismissal 
  • Graduation
  • Petitions & Academic Renewal
  • General questions

Counseling Drop Ins

Drop in hours vary per week, please visit Talk with a Counselor to set up a drop in appointment.

These 15 minute sessions can be used for the following:

  • Quick Questions
  • One Semester Education Plan (AEP)
  • Add/Drop Classes
  • Discuss Assessment Results
  • Discuss Academic Status
  • Apply for Graduation

Counseling Appointments

Appointments need to be scheduled ahead of time, please visit Talk with a Counselor to schedule an appointment.

30 minute appointments can be used for the following:

  • Academic Renewal
  • Financial Aid Consortium Agreements

60 minute appointments can be used for the following:

  • Semester by Semester Plan (CEP)
  • Financial Aid Petitions
  • Choosing a Major
  • Career Counseling
  • Personal Counseling (related to academic success)
  • Transfer/Graduation Planning
  • University Application Review
  • Professional Referrals to Community Resources

Cancellation Policy

Our goal is to provide quality service in a timely manner. In order to do so, we have implemented an cancellation policy. If it is necessary to cancel your scheduled appointment as soon as possible, you are required to cancel your appointment via Online Appointment System.  Failure to do so will result in a "no show". Appointments are in high demand, and your early cancellation will give another student the possibility to have access to timely counseling services.

No-Show Policy

A "no-show" is someone who misses an appointment without canceling. Failure to arrive at the time of a scheduled appointment will be recorded as a "no-show." Students who "no-show" for an appointment 3 times in a single semester will not be allowed to schedule another appointment until the following semester.

How to Cancel your Appointment

To cancel your appointment, please log into the Online Appointment System to do so and reschedule if needed.
