Audio Files
Recorded on Paul Carmona's Virtual Pipe Organ
These audio files were generated by a "virtual pipe organ" (VPO) that utilized extensive sets of sound samples that were recorded from real pipe organs. These sample sets include the recorded sounds of every pipe as well as the reverberation caused by each pipe in the spacious acoustics of its "real-life" location. The VPO that I used to create these audio files was made for me by VPO Organtechnology of Plano, Texas, and you can view a pre-shipping photo of my instrument on the home page of their web site.
The audio files for the Matyas Organ were recorded at a higher level than were the files for the Riddagshausen Organ. In order to compensate for that, please adjust your playback level accordingly. Also, because the size of these wav-audio files is rather large (as indicated below), it may work better to save them first to your hard drive rather than to attempt to stream them directly from the server.
Achieving perfection was not the objective here, but simply to give students, colleagues, and friends an idea of how this virtual instrument sounds. In any case, I am grateful that the recordings reveal fewer mistakes in my playing than there ought to have been, considering the haste with which I put this together. Before long, additional (and perhaps better) recordings may be added, possibly with the inclusion of both wav and mp3 files for playback.
