Geography
Students contemplating the study of geography at Cuyamaca College should beware that the subject can be addicting and lead to a lifetime of devotion to the topic. Geography is the study of Earth, its features and its inhabitants, and it includes both physical geography and human geography. Or, as Esri President Jack Dangermond once said, “Geography is the science of our world, and using and sharing geographic knowledge is the key to our future.”
Courses
Courses in geography at Cuyamaca College include:
- World Regional Geography, which covers the overarching principles of human geography as applied to the major geographical regions of the world, including Africa, the Middle East, south and east Asia, Australia, Europe and the Americas.
- Physical Geography: Earth Systems, an introductory course which covers the study and patterns and processes that underlie the fundamental nature and dynamics of the physical world
- Cultural Ethnobotany, which is the study of relationship between indigenous cultures and the plants of their ancestral homeland.
