Education:

BA – Industrial Art: Metals & Plastics Fabrication at San Diego State University

Floral Education: Self taught thru extensive study and experience in the floral industry. Studied with Gregor Lersch, German Master.

Design Manager at Adelaide, Inc. La Jolla CA from 1989 to 2009. With over 30 years of experience in the Floral Industry, Diane is the floral design instructor with the Ornamental Horticulture Department at Cuyamaca Community College in Rancho San Diego, and UCSD Extension in La Jolla.

As a member of the American Institute of Floral Design, Diane is an advocate of continuing education and professionalism in the floral industry. Sharing her passion for floral design, she teaches at all skill levels- in casual, business, academic and vocational settings. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Art, she embraces structural forms with distinct emphasis on organic European technique.

When she isn’t teaching floral workshops or classes, Diane freelances for several event and wedding companies throughout San Diego County.

Seeing the incredible amounts of flowers that are simply tossed away after special events, in 2011, Diane founded Heliotrope for Hospice, a small 501(c )(3) non-profit, with the sole purpose of providing bedside floral arrangements and plants to people in hospice care. 100% volunteer and through donations from wedding receptions, corporate events, grocery stores, retail shops or flowers procured with financial donations, Heliotrope for Hospice repurposes floral centerpieces into gifts of beauty. For more information, please check out the website, www.heliotropeforhospice.org or Facebook Page.
