CalFresh is California's version of EBT, allowing qualifying individuals easier access to nutritious food. Below is information and resources regarding CalFresh and updates on the program.
Updates
- The governor today announced two new initiatives to combat food insecurity. First, CalFresh recipients will receive the maximum benefits for the month of May and also can now use their EBT card to make purchases online at Amazon and Walmart. Newsom also announced the expansion of the Farm to Family Program, a public/private partnership that will aim to get 21 million pounds of fresh crops to food banks in May.
- Starting April 28, CalFresh and CalWORKS recipients can use their EBT card to purchase groceries online at Walmart and Amazon. Find more details on this San Diego CalFresh Online flyer.
CCC CalFresh Responses to COVID-19
- The California Community Colleges (CCC) system has released these outreach flyers to provide updates on information for both CalFresh applicants and current users. Benefits will not be cut in response to the pandemic.
