When transcripts are initially received, from currently-enrolled students, they are reviewed to determine the number of units that will be accepted and applied toward degree & certificate goals, and will also be incorporated into the overall Grade Point Average.
A course-by-course evaluation to award course equivalencies, and to determine the fulfillment of degree and/or certificate requirements, must be initiated by the Counseling Office. See How To Request a Transcript Evaluation? for more information.

Please plan ahead: Students must submit all official transcripts from all outside institutions prior to requesting a transcript evaluation. Please allow 10 to 12 weeks for your official transcript evaluation to be processed. If you are requesting your transcripts to be evaluated prior to the start of a semester please submit your evaluation request 10 to 12 weeks prior to the first day of registration for that semester. |
Q: | How do I receive the results of my transcript evaluation? |
A: | You will be notified by Admissions when your transcript evaluation is complete. An appointment will be made with your counselor to go over your evaluation. |
Q: | How long will it take to receive the outcome of my transcript evaluation request? |
A: | Because of the complexity of the service and the high volume of requests, it could take up to 12 weeks to receive results. If the transcript evaluators need you to provide additional information, the evaluation process could take longer. |
Q: | Can a course I took at my previous college satisfy your prerequisite requirement for a course at a GCCCD college? |
A: | For courses at Cuyamaca College, go to Cuyamaca College Prerequisite Information web page for more information. For courses at Grossmont College, go to Grossmont College Assessment Center Prerequisites website. |
