The primary purpose of EOPS is to extend the opportunity for community college education to all who may benefit regardless of economic, social and educational status. This opportunity includes helping students achieve their educational goals and objectives by obtaining career technical skills and certificates, associate degrees, and transferring to four-year institutions. The services below are an intensive supplement to those offered by Cuyamaca College.

  • Academic Counseling
  • Personal Counseling
  • Career and Transfer Counseling
  • Book Vouchers (as funding permits)
  • Transfer fee waivers
  • Priority Registration
  • Peer Advising/Mentoring
  • Tutoring
  • Orientations for college readiness

Check the Eligibility page to see if you may apply to the EOPS program.

Student Success

Currently, I’m a senior at San Diego State University. In all honestly, I would not be able to proudly announce my class status or choice of higher education institutions if it were not for programs such as EOPS and UP!

EOPS is the reason I was able to pursue higher education.

I was a student at Cuyamaca College for three years and throughout those years I was privileged to have EOPS, UP! and Financial Aid to support and assist me towards my goal of transfer. They provided me with over and above guidance and counseling each step of the way. This guidance included not only transfer information, but also the opportunity to meet my academic counselors prior to becoming a student. These counselors even took the time to discuss some of their own prior experiences at the University level.

Overall, I am forever grateful for EOPS, UP! and Financial Aid because they continue to make their programs more unique and educationally fulfilling.
